Three Months of Anniversaries

A year ago today my mom broke her hip, and the journey began. It was three months from the day she broke her hip, until the day of her funeral. Those three months held many events, both good and bad. I've been dredding this time when our minds will constantly be going back to "a year ago today..." Mom was 85 and lived a very full life. I have said SO many times that her life was the definition of commitment. She never backed out of anything, no matter what. She was a great example. This time in her life led me on a few trips-to California, and then to Arizona. These trips gave me the opportunity to be around my own siblings-we had always been separated by distance, as well as a pretty big age span. Because of those times, our relationships are very different today. At mom's expense, we were united and will never be the same. God IS good. He gave us this gift through a very difficult time. That seems to be the way things are-if we look hard, we CAN find the good coming from a difficult situation. Sometimes we have to look hard, and maybe it even takes a little time, but I believe that God is faithful and He doesn't waste anything.
