A Very Personal God
You don't have to know much about me to know my attachment to dolphins. Even though we live on the beach, it really isn't common for us to see dolphins. When we do, maybe there's one, or even two. After we returned from the vet on April 14, we hung out at the house for a while, then loaded up and drove out to Sanibel. We love to eat at McT's on the island, and usually plan to take guests there when time allows. Cary and I first ate there on our honeymoon, almost 25 years ago! This night had been planned ever since I knew Donna, Bob, and Renee were coming for the wedding. We shopped a little on the island, ate, and then stopped by the beach so that our guests could say they had been there! Needless to say, I was a bit in a fog, just going through the motions and working at taking my next breath. My heart was broken, but I SO wanted to be in these moments with my family surrounding me! I had been looking forward to this for so long. The minute we put our feet on the beach, the first thing we saw......DOLPHINS! I don't know how many there were, but I know we counted at least EIGHT at one time. They were playing like crazy, having a wonderful time! NOTHING could have ministered to my hurting heart like a dolphin show. As long as we were there, so were they. We could still see them as we left. Carissa had SO much school work going on that had been put aside because of wedding events and family, and she had stayed in the car to study. We started taking all kinds of family pictures and realized this was not a good time for her to be in the car, so Kaylee called her! Oh, cell phones! In that moment, surrounded by family and dolphins, I have never felt so tightly held by my Father. HE was there. I am convinced that He called each of those dolphins by name and told them to SHOW OFF! You will never convince me that this was anything other than a personal show, just for me.

To see God's hand in our life we only need to open our eyes and our heart.
