I Love Our Ministry!!!

A few weeks ago I wrote about how much I love my job. While we were away last week with our college kids, I was once again reminded of how much I love our ministry. I am so excited about what this generation will accomplish for the Lord. It is such a blessing to be in a room of hundreds of them and watch them lost in worship and praise. They are bright, able, sold out, excited, and know there is a world out there waiting to hear the good news. I am blown away when I think they were able to raise such a huge amount of money for translating the Bible. I'll never understand why God has allowed us to be a part of this, but I'll be forever grateful! What an honor!

I was also reminded of the journey we have been on with many of these kids. We have watched many fall away, make wrong choices, find forgiveness and come back to serve the Lord in ways we never could have imagined. We have seen them go to the ends of the earth, and also serve Him right here. He never lets go of His own. Never. He is faithful.

You have me checking in to find Kaylee's sweet face on you blog for 2 1/2 weeks and then you post so much I can't comment on everything I want to so I will just say "You and Cary are a perfect example of the saying 'You can only do well what you love doing' The results of your ministry shows that you have great love for it and God has blessed it unmeasurable. You have been such a wonderful blessing to us all. I love you both and praise God for sending you when I prayed for a friend 20 years ago!

I can second all of that! God is SO good to give us a "calling" in life. Last night at my award service the speaker spoke of "the place that we go", as nurses, and that when we are in "that place" we are truly in service to others, and it is second nature to us. I know that is how God intended our calling to be. I, personally, can remember a very good friend coming with me to a first doctors appointment and supporting me and a baby boy (that we couldn't have imagined at that time) and the impact that had on me. I truly felt Christ with me, and His loving acceptance, because of that wonderful woman. Sometimes we get to see the impact of our labors for God, sometimes it takes years to see the ripple effect of our finger in the pool of someone elses' life, and sometimes we will never know that our work has been effective. God only asks us to serve. So, I want to TRULY thank you (and Cary) for loving all the youth and young adults you encounter the way you have loved Troy and I over the years, as you can see it has made a remarkable difference and will continue to as we pass on that heart of service to another generation.
